Warhammer Online: Loading Screen Tips Mr. Meh #1

Not sure the purpose; not sure the intention of what it brings, but I used to love the different loading screen tips when I first started playing. And our lovely new producer lady, Carrie at Mythic would like some free thinking in coming up with more.

However, it requires forum use, and you don’t really have to read my blog more then a week to know how I feel about that. Plus I can’t get to the forums at work, and at home computer time is Pwnage time. Everyone knows that. So ultimately, I love the idea. And to me it would be alot more fun just to put these ideas here and then copy them to the forum one day before the 30th on the forums. Then when I get to thinking about what I would like to see, I realize that in-game tips are … kind of either not my forte, or not really needed. I mean what else can you put other than:

“Hey, go to curse.com and get some mods. Stop Twisting like a tool, and get a mod. But not a macro, that’s cheating.”

This excerpt from the Herald, really stood out to me:

We may correct grammar/spelling, and all tips/names must pass Games Workshop approval.

GW, you say. One of my favorite Loading Screen Tips is the Greenskin lore one with Mork and Gork. Love lore, and despite the fact that Warhammer was invented to escape the aspect of D&D and fantasy lore, and to just have the fun strategy and tactics of the games; Warhammer actually has a ton of lore, maybe too much. But unless you were in the game in the beginning and actively did Tome Unlocks and PvE quest, you probably could give crap less. So what’s the likelihood that a Lore-based Loading Tip will make it to the Screen … probably not at all. I may or may not be the last Table Top fan left in the WAR community. So what am I doing throughout the month?

I will be thinking of useless Lore Loading Screen Tips. Just because I like being difficult and obnoxious. Feel free to steal; but please note, that trying to determine a lore fact, always sparks flame wars between nerds. You steal it and post it, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not challenged within seconds.

Mr. Meh’s Loading Screen Tips of Awesome Useless Lore Facts #1 : A through F: Magic Lores

The magic used in Warhammer focuses around using different forms of Warp Energy caused by the arrival of Chaos Forces, referred to as the Winds of Magic. The Dwarves untrusting of magic, store the magical winds in physical form called Runes, and release the energy in battle as you would a gun or hammer.

The magic used in Warhammer focuses around using different forms of Warp Energy caused by the arrival of Chaos Forces, referred to as the Winds of Magic.  The Humans of the Empire, too short on lifespan to understand all the magics in their time, focus on just 1 of 8 Winds or Lores. The dynamic and destructive force of Aqshy, has influenced the heavy use of Pyromancer in the forefront of most battlelines.

C – The magic used in Warhammer focuses around using different forms of Warp Energy caused by the arrival of Chaos Forces, referred to as the Winds of Magic. The High Elves use all the winds in the form of  Qhaysh, that try an harmonize the chaotic flow the winds.

D – The magic used in Warhammer focuses around using different forms of Warp Energy caused by the arrival of Chaos Forces, referred to as the Winds of Magic. The Dark Elves use a darker form of wind manipulation called Dhar.

E – The magic used in Warhammer focuses around using different forms of Warp Energy caused by the arrival of Chaos Forces, referred to as the Winds of Magic. Greenskin forces however are immune to the natural draw of the winds, and use magic called  Waagh. Where use of the winds can cause backlash on the user with misuse, misuse of the Waagh Magic has been known to boil the brains of allies.

F – The magic used in Warhammer focuses around using different forms of Warp Energy caused by the arrival of Chaos Forces, referred to as the Winds of Magic. For the followers of Chaos, they focus their energies with one of the four main Chaos Gods. The most powerful of which can be found with Tzeentch and the vast forces of the Raven God. Ironically, the famous Bezerkers of Khorne are avidly against any magic use.

  1. I read through some yesterday on the forums, and this one really stood out, and cracked me up.

The average player has transferred servers 2.7 times.

  2. Nice magic tips however you may want to tweak the human one. Sure they only use Aqshy in game as players, but there ARE Jade wizards wandering about, and humans themselves utilise many of the lores.

    • Yeah. It ended up originally very big. Talking about how humans actually have long term mutations with Magic and all 8 Lores that the Empire uses.

I ended up extremely editing each one, as I felt 2 sentences was alot for a tip. 3 was overkill. The Empire one was originally 6 sentences. I felt noting 1 of 8 was good enough as it pertained to the game.
